Please Newton, pull it together and be what everyone is hoping you can be. I am sadly starting to wonder if this is an omen of how this app is going to be supported (or not) in the future despite it being priced as a premium software/service. I cannot in good conscience recommend it right now. I was a paid supporter and avid evangelist of Newton both before and after it’s temporary demise.

Well, iOS 13 is out, they did an update a week ago (first one in six moths), and the problem hasn’t been fixed. I was told they knew about it and that it would be fixed in the next update. I reached out to Newton about this problem back when iOS 13 was in beta. Want to copy, cut, and move a line to a lower place in an email? Get ready to have to only interface on the screen because Newton won’t allow you to use the arrows to move the cursor or highlight text. Want to delete by word (OPT+Delete)? Can’t want to delete the line (CMD+Delete)? Can’t do that either. I am using the Apple iPad Keyboard Folio and Newton refuses to recognize ANY of the arrow keys to move the cursor and also doesn’t recognize the Option or Command keys when paired with the Delete key. Unless you type perfectly, Newton is incredibly cumbersome to use on iOS 13 with an external keyboard. The app has changed hands twice and the most recent owners seem to be actual users of the app so I’m looking forward to the updates they have in store! I consider myself a power user and Newton is my favorite not-so-secret weapon. It makes my life easier and for that I’d gladly pay $4 a month. I’m confident Newton does not do the same. Spark or Airmail are similar but not the same and I don’t know how much I trust my data in their hands. And I could understand how a casual email user might think this is unreasonable. The $50 a year could be considered a bit much. The signatures and settings are seamlessly synced across all my devices. The fact that I can use a single login to sign in to a device with all of my accounts is incredibly convenient. The bundling is similar, not perfect, but does the job well. I still miss Google Inbox from time to time but this is a very good replacement. I’ve used it for over a year now, and I’ve enjoyed it. I, like many, mourned the passing of Google Inbox and found Newton in my grief. Thanks to an apparent team of hard workers there! Maybe there is a feature but it isn’t yet apparent.Īll in all, great work and loving it so far. I have to go to Gmail, iCloud or Exchange to set up rules which are then reflected in Nmail. Haven’t figured out the simplest way to select a ton of different emails, and set up an auto filter for where they will go on receipt. I link 4 email accounts on Nmail.ģ - Organizing. Anyway to have a VIP function, similar to Mail? When I get an email from my boss, client, etc it’s in a special section, despite account. Would be great to attach items from other apps (iBooks, Pinterest, etc)Ģ - VIPs.

Right now you can only attach pictures and iCloud Drive docs when drafting an email within the app. Love the support and company Modus Operandi!ġ - Attachments. Emails refresh quickly without draining my iPhone 6s battery. Love how messages are truncated, presented, swipe options. I love this application and it’s well worth the $2 a month for the read receipt function alone.

Keep up the great work Newton Team - Thank You!!! This app is amazing and definitely worth the money. This isn’t just a one instance, I’ve emailed on numerous occasions with different questions and have always gotten answers within minutes - no matter the time or day. Newton’s support is unmatched! I can send an E-Mail at 11PM and get an answer LITERALLY within a 10 minute time frame. I understand you may not always need support, but when you do - I know when I do - it’s sometimes a pain to wait for an answer you need or would like to have right away. It costs more than the cost of the Newton subscription - and those are just two features. Just research how much it costs for add ons to GMail, for example, for the read receipts or send later functionality.

Feature rich, simple design, it just works and it works amazingly well.

I used to be in the same mindset and tried just about every mail app worth trying that was available on the App Store before begrudgingly trying Newton and liking it enough to subscribe.Īfter a little over a year and using the app extensively on my iPhone as well as my Mac I can honestly say this is the best Mail app you can find. I understand many negative reviews are being left by those who think the price is too high for the subscription.
